U S A !!!

Today USA played, and as an American I felt that it was my civic duty to watch and support. I had the day off so of course I slept in a lil bit. I woke and turned the TV on. Its 0-0. with a few mins left. I thought "well I didn't miss much" probably 30 seconds later Landon Donovan puts one in the back of the goal, then the game ends, and my duty was complete.

Heres a little preview of our wedding invitations. I had my buddy Austin Cox design so if you ever need anything designed he's the man to go to, especially when you need a quick turn around…. or reach around..

Marines are not predictable

Jill and I are big fans of the Rush Hour movies

52 days till the wedding, then Puerto Morelos !!

Engaged and overage

I know I've been slacken on the blog post. I guess I've just been busy or not on my computer as much. but just to prove that I have been trying to come up with some material, heres a pic of my desktop

So some big news has come up lately. Turns out that Jill and I are engaged !! Yup after 6 years of dating I finally decided to tie the not, or take the plunge, or slowly start to die, or as a close friend told me "Its like the day after an awesome party you went to." Lets take a look at what UD has to say….

the number one cause of divorce

What straight couples have legally and commonly don't want, and what gay couples don't have legally and commonly want.

a license to !@#$$

The beginning of the end

The triumph of imagination over intelligence.

If you're a women I wouldn't recommend looking at UD, its pretty bad.

Anywho, I've loved the same girl for over 6 years and I can honestly say that it still gets stronger everyday, and nothing beats that. The time we've waited to get married has taught us so much about life, and each other.

Check this guy out playing the Guit-Fiddle

Where do these people learn how to do this ?

Affliction Monday

Dude.... Bro.....

For people who hate John Mayer

John & Co

D Bags Unite

From this post I'm sure one would think that I'm not a fan of John Mayer. The truth of the matter is, you can find me on march 9th in sec 206 acting like a little girl at the John Mayer concert.

Last Fridays visit to Buffalo wild wings during UFC inspired this blog. Im not a fan of UFC, but the people who watch are definetly interesting to watch needless to say.

Ryan Edgar peformed after cody did, and Jill and I were blown away. This guy has an incredible voice. If you get a chance check his stuff out on itunes or check out his myspace.... Yes people still have myspace. I still have one so I can keep up with fav artists.

Valentines Day

Funny Old Spice commercial

Well….. Valentines turned out better than I thought it would. I think its fair to say that most men absolutely hate this day that some call a holiday. I am one of those men. That being said, as a man I just need to realize that no matter what, women will always care about it for some reason. This year was a little different in the sense that I didn't have very much in the budget for VD, which i think caused me to put more effort into it. All in all Jill was happy and she even said that this was her favorite Valentines Day. I think it was the Marvin Gaye Pandora radio that did the trick.

Another new album you should check out is the "Kaleb Moore Band". They just came out with their new EP, so go check it out on itunes. I texted James about his shirt in this pic. I asked him if it came in mens. He said it did but he didn't like the way it felt.

Im still waiting to hear from the FAA for a job, and all this waiting makes things stressful, so I will be praying for patience this week. I heard that if I hear anything within 6 months of applying that I would be considered lucky, and its only been 2 months. So hopefully we will be blessed and hear something soon.

Super Bowl Sunday

On Sunday I'll be rooting for the Colts !! #33 Melvin Bullitt, safety for the colts is a former teammate of mine from back in high school (Naaman Forest Rangers). Although we weren't very good friends it still makes me proud that I've played on the same downs as he has, and more importantly that a teammate of mine has not only made it to the NFL, but to the big game.

I dont know why this is so Awkward

If you're looking for a new place eat at, here are a few of new places that I've been to lately.

The Flying Fish was good place to get catfish, or gumbo, but not limited to that kind of stuff. I was surprised as to how diverse the menu was, and all in all I was very pleased. They also had this funny sign there.

Then theres Roosters Road House in Denton by Fuzzy's. its a pretty cool BBQ and burger joint. They also have a challenge where if you eat 18 sliders, and a giant order of cheese fries, you get the meal free. However if you fail to complete the task, it will cost you $30. Don't forget to tip. Here's Lackey's attempt.

And heres lackey's defeat

Then of course the best is saved for last. If you've ever been to Denton then you've probably been to Old West. If not it needs to be in your top 2 things to do today before 2pm b/c thats when they close. This breakfast/lunch cafe will not disappoint you. I guarantee it. Try their Cobbler, its only 99 cents, plus 50 cents if you want ice cream. Oh and try to carpool b/c parking may be an issue.

I know the Lord restores my soul, He makes me new he makes me whole

Last night Cody Carnes killed it. Honestly I don't even know how to describe the show. It obviously had a big enough impact on me to write something about it. Since theres not really one word to describe it, im going to use several events that took place during his set that can better paint the pic in your head. On a few of his songs I was on the cusp of shedding a few tears, and I could kinda tell that a few others were too. Cody's songs are completely raw, and they just tell it how it is, which was really encouraging. Cody and Cavanaugh James ended up just giving away their CD's to everyone. They explained that what they are doing was not to make money or be famous, but to share their love and encouragement through their music. This show was well worth the $8. When Cody played the last note of his last song everyone clapped for another few mins after he was done and it was well deserved. As Cody's friend and someone who has seen him before last night, you can tell how much he has grown spiritually and musically. I went to the concert knowing it was going to be good, but I left blessed, and very impressed on how good it was. I honestly didn't expect it. I recorded the whole show, so hopefully shortly I'll post some songs up. His news songs that didn't make it on the EP are even better the ones on the EP.
